FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Vancouver-based rock band, A Sheep at the Wheel will be performing at BC Place Stadium July 8, 2006. The concert will be part of the after party for the Underwear Affair marathon, a fundraiser to find a cure for cancers below the belt.
Since the release of Blend in 2005, A Sheep at the Wheel (www.asheepatthewheel.com) has been gaining popularity in the active Vancouver music scene. The band won the 2005 UBC Battle of the Bands and was voted runner up for best new band by the readers of popular arts and entertainment newspaper, The Georgia Straight. “[Performing at the Underwear Affair] is a great opportunity for us to give back to the community using our music” says guitarist Joel Grenz.
A Sheep at the Wheel will hit the stage at 7:15 PM to play a 30 minute set of their unique brand of grooving rock. The event is not open to the public but is an exclusive event for marathon participants and their friends. Says band lead singer Courtney Klassen, “your ticket in is running in the race and supporting this great cause.”
