For the last few days, if I wasn’t outside donating blood to mosquitoes or walking into cobwebs (ha! good one, spidey! you got me AGAIN! Now if you’d stop scurrying away, you can meet my sneaker), you would have probably found me flicking through a combination of CBC, “SayBaySay”, NBC, and TSN in order to watch a bunch of finely-tuned athletes doing (or failing to do) their thing.
The Olympics. I didn’t think I’d be hooked…but I have succumbed to the storylines, the displays of sheer dominance over a particular skill (How is it that amongst the “best of the best”, there can still be one (or a team) who is significantly better than the others?), and the ever-unpredictable “still-human” factor. There’s no drama like life itself.
I’m also starting to think that cheerleading should be an olympic sport…oui?
So…what have you been watching?

I watched everything! Well…everything they showed in Prime Time, that is. I even found myself watching Water Polo. My favorites, though, are swimming and gymnastics (both artistic and rhythmic).
One of my favorite things about the Olympics is seeing the phenoms who crush everyone else in specific events. But that may just be because a lot of the time, the phenoms are from my country
Cheerleading would certainly be better than some of the other crap they’re considering adding to the Olympics, such as rollerskating. I mean seriously…wtf?? If anything, it should be rollerBLADING, not skating.
I’ve enjoyed the events that involve raw athletic ability like running. All in all it was a good olympics but I’m bummed about missing the opening and closing ceremonies. Apparently they were worth watching.
