I had been in Saskatoon that weekend for work. My plane landed at 5:30. I went straight to the Park N Fly to pick up my car. Then it was the mad dash home to pick up my guitar and change so as not to look like a lame corporate sellout onstage. I arrived at Tom Lee about 10 minutes after we were supposed to start playing. Fortunately our set started about 20 minutes late or the band would have had to start without me. We then had literally 3 minutes to throw our gear on stage, tune, and such, before Joel started the first song. About halfway through the intro Paul yells, “I’m not ready”. OK, extend the intro….a lot. I think we played it 6 times. Then came the train wreck ending. Unfortunately, I remember more of the set than Paul. It was bad. And when I say it was bad, I mean it was probably the worst performance we have done in a year. Every band has off nights, so I don’t get too worked up about it, but it is always a little embarrassing when it happens. That was just a perfect example of not being mentally prepared to jump on stage. <br/><br/>Fortunately, we had a much better time last night at the Buffalo Club. It could have been really bad. Court had (has) the flu. He went out before the show and bought some Buckley’s, and that saved the show. Thanks to those brave few who came out. We were just glad to play our songs well. That will be our last show until Feb. 23rd when we are back at the Buffalo Club for a Friday Night. Then we will probably not do any more shows for another month or two. That meeting Paul mentioned was about getting down to business on the new record we’ve been promising for months and that is what we’ll be working on in the near future.
