Well, here it is…
We’ve been planning this video out for some time now. A few weeks back Joel, Christian, and I went for breakfast and started working out some themes and ideas that we’d like to play up in this video. Last week we spent the better part of last Sunday shooting all of the clips with us in front of the video wall with all of the images going past us. Then the following night we shot the stuff where I’m walking through the hallways and…errr…having a smoke…
There are obviously a lot political overtones to this song, but I thought I’d give you guys a bit of the background behind it. The original lyrics for this song came to me about 14 months ago while I was driving through the mountains on a beautiful summer day. I turned on the radio, and found out that the subways in London had just been bombed. I was in shock.
There have been some edits since then, but the heart of those lyrics was born on that day. We really pushed over the last week to get this song released, because there are some important elections in the USA this week. I’m not endorsing any candidates, but I think that there are some important issues at the fore here. I think that everyone in the US needs to be careful that they have thought through all of these issues before they head to the voting booth.
That said, I hope you enjoy the video. Here it is.
Joel did a tonne (metric) of work on this video. He shot, edited, directed, produced…he’s the man. Joel, I’ve said it in e-mails, but I want to say it publicly. GREAT WORK!!!!

I was about to say, Mariabella…no way was that a year ago. It was still a different set of lyrics at that point. LOL
So yeah…I’m happy to say I’ve heard this song performed live. Thrice. Although…I actually prefer the “Buttercups” version. Don’t hurt me, CK
As for the video…it rocks on many levels. I know y’all have been talkin’ for a looooong time about doing one, so I’m glad it finally happened for ya’…

I’m still trying to figure out exactly what Coolshades means by “the Buttercups version.” That’s just a nik-name that we have for the song. There is no other version of it… :-S
Kato, Maria, Amrita, Glad you liked it!
Cool, I’m very jealous. Always.
Get me to back to Vancouver to hear this live please.
Sorry dude…my bad…
I was talking about the prior lyrics…the ones on the video from your Battle of the Bands try-out. Since it’s listed as “Buttercups” on the setlist I have, that’s all I’ve ever known it as. LOL
Irene! Seriously…it’s worth the cost of a trip to Vancouver just to see ASATW live. You gotta go
MG and JC looks like a pretty awesome video.
