I got this email tonight:
Heya,
I thought you might find this to be a funny story.
Two Fridays ago my buddy and I fly from Toronto to see the second U2 show at GM Place. And, as luck would have it we find ourselves inside the “Elipse.” We have a wicked show and leave during “40″ to get a jump on the traffic. We get in a cab and go to the airport to take the overnight flight back to Toronto.
The next day I’m sleeping-off twenty-hours of flying, drinking and what-not when my girlfriend drags me out of bed to look at the computer screen on her desk.
She’s searching for pics from the show. “Look she says.” I squint. “Yeah, thats nice. The Edge. I know I was there, remember?” I’m annoyed that she woke me up for this.
“Look closer.” She says. “Put your glasses on.”
“Oh” I say quite surprised. Its a picture of ME and The Edge. Cool!”
You must have shot that with a sniper’s scope, Dude.
Anyway, I wanted to say thanks. Pretty cool to fly to Van for a show. Fly home. And wake-up to a pic of me and the EDGE online. Btw, whenever anyone asks me how the show was (it was the third of seven I will be at) I give them your internet address and say “A picture
is worth a thousand words.” And check-out the band while you’re there. They sound good.I attached a copy of the pic if you wanna paste it or any of my tale into your Blog.
The other pic is of me and a guy named Paul who was also at the show. You might recognize him.
Cheers,
Mark
