How Three Sheep Got To Be In U2’s Newest Video

Well, it has been a great day. CK, BB and I just got back from a spontaneous video shoot for U2’s next single City of Blinding Lights! I probably should be letting CK tell this story since he is the bigger U2 fan - but you snooze you lose!

It was announced at noon that they needed 4000 fans at GM Place for 7:30 that evening and the fans turned up by the bus load! The stage was beautiful with curtains of coloured lights and a multi level platform of concentric circles the biggest of which extended into the middle of the crowd so Bono could walk around and meet and great.

We were all seated in the stands while the camera crew shot the band playing on stage. They played the song four times all with flashing lights and smoke machines and screaming fans!

Then they ushered all of us onto the floor. The crowd was divided into those with yellow wristbands who got to be on the inside of the largest concentric circle and everyone else who got to be on the other side. CK got to be on the inside.

U2 then played City of Blinding Lights once more as we all cheered on. But wait! The song concluded and Bono said they would sing another! They then broke into Vertigo, All Because of You and Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own! It was amazing and an excellent preview to tomorrow’s show!
