EPISODE VIII: THE RISE OF THE SMPTE SYNDICATE
Edwards strode purposefully into the FF Command Centre. Always a hive of activity, today was no exception. On days like this one he didn’t mind working in Analysis, even if it meant being down in the third basement. Still, he couldn’t deny that there was a sense of urgency here that really charged up the blood. “Captain,” he said, “looks like that intel you got was good. Jimmy’s onto something big. Real big.”
Captain Rick turned slowly in his chair, and raised his eyes to meet the gaze of his Deputy. Edwards was fighting with Eileen again, and had obviously spent the night chasing his own personal demons. Sleep, it seemed, was not a weapon currently in his arsenal. Geez Edwards, Rick thought, you are my Number One, but I can’t have you running around here looking like you slept in your locker. You’d better pull yourself together. “What’s he got?” the Captain asked.
Picking up on the way that the Captain looked at him, Edwards was suddenly aware of his appearance. The soldier’s instinct took over. Standing up tall, squaring his shoulders, and attempting to straighten out a badly wrinkled uniform, he replied, “Sir, do you remember that troop of Elysian mercenaries that we tracked out of the Tholian sector a few months ago? Well, it seems they’re back. And this time they’ve brought some friends with them…”

What happens next!?!
Did you see The Adventures of Riddick? It actually wasn’t too bad, and as you can imagine, I’m not your typical Vin Diesel fan.
No, I didn’t see it. And you’re right…I wouldn’t have picked you as a Vin Diesel fan! Haha! I’m not sure which installment of “Fatal Furies” to post next. I’m just writing it one page at a time, and from various episodes too…it’s sort of an experiment that I’m trying out. Half the time I just laugh out loud as I start writing the stories…good old serials…
Ooops, it’s actually the Chronicles of Riddick. The movie wasn’t my pick, but I do like sci-fi most of the time. It had cool costumes, scenery, sets and special effects. Vin Diesel is a decent actor (to my great surprise) and the story is compelling enough to fill 2 hours, so overall I’d say most sci-fi fans would be satisfied. So when you say “to be continued”, it might not actually continue? Or is it an invitation for others to keep the story going?
I have written a couple of pages for Episode VIII. The second page is up now, it takes place much later in the story, I have yet to write the pages that go in between. I also have some pages written for Episodes VI and IV. If people want to add to it, I suppose that would be okay (I was thinking of trying something like that here too, kinda like the theatre sports game where you start the story and then pass the ball to someone else) but I do have a partial plot and character map already worked out.
